Exista cateva supergrupuri de muzica progresiva atat de mari, incat ele sunt cunoscute astazi, pentru unele dintre creatiile lor, de toti melomanii adevarati. Unul dintre aceste supergrupuri s-a numit Pink Floyd si, ca incadrare stilistica, face parte din subcurentul Psychedelic/Space Rock, cu o puternica nota existentiala tipica. Aceasta il face inconfundabil.
